Overcoming Your Fears, It Works.

You are not your fears. Sometimes you can be so afraid of something – no matter how unreasonable it is, that it paralyzes you. And the more you feed your fear, the greater its impact on your life. In other words, fear is an emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger.

Fear is not an option, once you master your fears, there is room for new opportunities and growth. Here are a few ways to do that:

  • Name your fear

There are few things more terrifying than the unknown and surely, you cannot avoid or control what you do not know. The first step is therefore to identify and name your fear. For example, I want to get rid of my fear of failure. Or I want to get rid of my fear of being abandoned. Get to know it.

  • Take small steps

Unreasonable fears stop us from doing what we love most and making our dreams come true. But taking small steps to face your fears can make big changes in the long run. You don’t always have to jump into the deep end. What small steps can you take to lessen your anxiety? Start with that and you will see your fear automatically reduce.

  • Come up with an anti-anxiety affirmation

If you keep repeating your fear in your mind, it will get stronger and stronger. But fortunately, it also works the other way around. So, think of a positive affirmation to put against the fear. Change from an “I can’t” to an “I can, no matter what” person.

  • Reduce your fear

Ask yourself why the fear comes to you, and then let it go as you tell yourself that fear is an opportunity that can help you become the best version of yourself. That way you make the fear smaller and less powerful.

Fear is a thief of destiny (remember you live once) which if not conquered at its earliest lowers self-esteem, reduces efficiency, limits learning, and creates insecurities at a personal level which inhibits achievement. However, strife for fearlessness shouldn’t be a reason for disrespect as it may be misunderstood. A golden life lies in overcoming fear, try it.
